Accommodations

Each of the 10 rooms at The Kestrel is named after a local Yorkshire suburb and retains original oak beams and stone walls from the former farmhouse. Rooms are equipped with Hypnos beds, a digital TV with swivel function, and a bathroom with either a waterfall or power shower. All rooms are allergy-free and available as family rooms with a sofa bed for two children.

Dining

The Kestrel's restaurant serves seasonal food menus that change regularly, with options for gluten-free and dairy-free diets. Cask ales from local and further afield breweries are available at the bar, alongside a selection of wines. Breakfast includes a full cooked English breakfast with vegetarian and vegan alternatives, as well as pancakes with fresh fruit.

Location & Local Attractions

The hotel sits on the A59, a 5-minute drive from both central Harrogate and Knaresborough, with free private parking on site. Within 10 minutes by car, guests can reach Betty's Tea Rooms, Harlow Carr Botanical Gardens, and the Mother Shipton cave. The Great Yorkshire Showground and Ripon Cathedral are also within a short drive from the property.

Family-Friendly Features

The hotel offers family rooms that sleep two adults and two children, with cots available on request. Kids' meals are on the restaurant menu, and the beer garden provides outdoor space for children to play. Guests frequently praise the staff's attentiveness to young children and the easy access to family attractions like Knaresborough Castle.
